WeightLoss Supplement

Diet.com - Say goodbye to fad diets

There is many a weightloss supplement on the market today and so much hype, marketing and misinformation surrounding them, it's almost impossible to find information on a weight loss supplement and know which are useful and which are useless.

Here I will mention just a few of the different varieties of weightloss supplements to assist you in making that all important decision about which are best for you.

The two categories of supplements are prescription and non-prescription. More and more supplements are being classified as prescription only under FDA regulation. They are really cracking down on these sorts of products due to the number of phony and ineffective supplements available, particularly online.

Some examples of prescription weight loss pills include Xenical/Orlistat, Phentermine/Fentermine and Meridia/Sibutramine. These drugs are very closely regulated by the FDA and are only prescribed to patients after they undergo a serious of tests and suitability surveys.

These are in fact considered weight loss drugs. Weightloss supplements, the non-prescription variety, include things like Ephedra which has recently been banned in some countries. Ephedra is a very powerful supplement which is often misused; therefore the FDA began issuing warnings about it.

Ephedra-free weightloss supplement s have now hit the market, with manufacturers wanting to cash in on the wave of negative press against Ephedra.

Most prescription weight loss pills or supplements are meant to be used as treatment for obesity, not just to lose a few pounds. Weightloss supplement s are needed for obese people as their life is often at risk. On the contrary, cosmetic weight loss does not benefit from a weightloss supplement or pill; they can actually end up doing more harm than good.

A weightloss supplement should be taken in conjunction with a proper balanced diet. You will simply not lose weight in a healthy manner if your diet is not up to scratch regardless of which weight loss dietary supplement or pill you are taking!

Many studies have shown that long term weight loss is never achieved simply by taking supplements or pills. The only people who keep weight off are those who maintain a sensible diet as outlined by their nutritionist.

Voting Question: hoodia, what do I tell my mom. Ten points best answer?
So basically I am not happy with my weight, I was once healthy and great but lately have had a rough time and ordered hoodia. (A natural weightloss supplement). The website said that the package looks very discrete, has anyone ever ordered hoodia and know what I should be looking for? Okay so best answer goes to the best excuse to give my mom so she won't look in the package when it comes, just put it in my room. PS: I'm 17, and used my own money and debit card. HELP? just to answer a few people. Yes, she does look in my mail. She's kind of a weirdo. At a time I found my opened mail in her droor and really went off on her. I'm afraid it will happen again.

It says on http://www.greenteasecrets.com/weightloss.html that: "just by drinking one cup of tea a day or by taking green tea extract in the form of supplement you will burn about an extra 78 calories. This adds up to over 28,000 calories in a year. Which is about 8 extra pounds of weight." Is it true? Cause if I drink 4 cups a day, I'll burn 312 calories a day! Resolved Question: What type of foods should I be eating if I start working out?
This past two weeks I've been working really hard to get into a workout routine. I've got Runner Worlds books, and have started out well. I just have problems with eating healthy. I do, it's just the fruits and veggies I replace the unhealthy snacks are just not that filling. So I am literally pigging out on apples, grapes, and Yo plait light all day long! So I was wondering if you had any healthy snacks that were filling for me. My workout routine is to work out 3-5 times a week, depending on when I have softball practice. I try to jog a good 1 and a half to two miles, and then run walk til it has been 30-45 minutes. I also put in high-knee running and butt kicks. I come home and lift free weights and basically do twenty minutes of stretch and strengthening exercises. I have been trying to lose weight so if you know: -Any good meal plans -exercises and excercise routines -and any weightloss supplements that work I would really appreciate it!

Resolved Question: lap band versus gastric bypass...?
I am 22 years old, 4 f 11 in and I weigh 205 lbs. My BM is 40.5 but I have diabetes, and joint pain. I went to see a surgeon about having the banding procedure done, but to my suprise he recommeded gastric bypass for me. I thought that was way too drastic since I am obese, but I am not way out. I have only been overweight for 2 years. I was put on Depakote and in two months I gained 70 lbs. I can't lose that weight though I run 5 miles 6x/wk and I eat right following a strict diabetes diet. Would you agree with my doctor, or should I go with my gut and have the lap band? Please don't tell me to try something else even if it worked for you because I have tried the ones I can afford. Surgery was decided between my doctor and me as the best option for me. I have tried prescription weightloss pills with no success, so please don't tell me to try a supplement because I have researched them and decided on my own that they are just a scam. Thank you!
